The Homelessness Crisis

Here's the reality:

Homelessness in King County is exploding. The need, right now, is massive. While even just one person trapped in homelessness is too much . . . 40,000 is a crisis. And that’s what’s on our hands — over 40,000 men, women, and children in King County are living on the streets, in their cars or couch surfing. At Vision House we’ve designed our services to directly impact these crucial needs for families in our community. Scroll down to learn more.

Why is there so much homelessness?

It’s not an easy question to answer. It never is. Homelessness is complex, because people are complex.

Here are just a few of the major reasons that cause homelessness:

  • Lack of Affordable Housing

  • Unemployment

  • Poverty

  • Low Wages

  • Domestic Violence

  • Mental Illness

  • Substance Abuse

  • Broken Relationships

What does it take to break the cycle of homelessness?
